My D800 arrived right after lunch today! So I am slowly getting acquainted with it. My first realization is how my CF and SD cards are now wwwaaaayyyy small! The largest I have are 16GB and these have Ben fine for my 300s, 5000, 700, 7000, but for the D800... No sir! So now I need to Either make sure I have enought for multiple spares, or buy some bigger cards. Decisions decisions!

But here's a weird math issue for you... With a 16GB CF, and a 32GB SD installed, and saving images as NEF compressed and JPG fine (NEFs going into the CF and JPGs going into the SD) I have space for about 258 images. Without changing image settings, if I pull the SD card the space drops to 166 (understandable), but when I pull the CF card the space *increases* to 313!!! Please explain that to me.

D810, D750, N1-J5, N1-V3 (and a few other cameras) and a BIG handful of lenses.
