Very nice! I'm still considering buying a V1 but I'm probably going to hold out for the next generation of them. I don't know what they'll call it, though. V2? V1.1? Only so many letters available if they want to keep the 1 in there...
I may do that, too. A nikonian was selling their V1 at a good price so I jumped on it. I am looking forward to playing some. I think it'll be my travel camera of choice when I go somewhere. And maybe sneak in some long shots, too.
I dunno, V2 just seems like Nikon 2 instead of 1. I bet they'll do something else to keep the 1. Like VX1 or V1x or something.
Nothing special, Tom. Left hand cupped under the zoom, a moderately good shutter speed, the VR, and the electronic shutter.
I think, actually, that not having mirror slap is a huge benefit and the fact that the lens is hand-holdable are the reasons why we can even attempt to hand hold a 500-600mm equivalent lens. But the bottom line is that just like when using an exotic, a tripod (okay, a monopod at the minimum) is the right way to go.
