Is the lens focal length displayed in the D7000's viewfinder?

It is, however, recorded in the metadata.
I hate when people ask me what I see myself doing in 5 years...... I don't have 2020 vision!

Not in the Viewfinder, see page 38 of user manual for viewfinder data display. The focal length in on the Shooting Data Page 1, see page 168 of user manual. You must set your display to show the Data screens, see page 197 of the user manual. It is also shown in many photo editing programs.
