I have two 8G SDHC cards installed, one in slot 1 and the other in slot 2. I have the camera set to use the card in slot 2 as overflow. In my LED display, I see two icons one for slot 1 and one for slot 2, except it does not have a number 2 on it as does the one in slot one, has a number 1 on it.
Both are formatted by using format cards in the menu.
Also in my LED it shows the image count when just formatted to be 223 RAW images. Should it show 446 or the total for both cards?
I was also perplexed by the failure to note the card in Slot 2 so long as that in Slot 1 was being used. Am now comforted by the knowledge that this seems to be the norm as experienced by others. Nathan
I believe that if the second card is chosen as overflow it doesn't show a 2 until the maximum shots in card 1 is reached. If card 2 is set as backup or Raw slot 1 - JPEG slot 2 then the number 1 and 2 is shown in the control panel - go to shooting menu, role played by card in slot 2.
