Thanks! I'm really noticing the accuracy on skin tones in a way I'd never really seen before.
I had really wanted the 16mp for the 20x30" prints I've been selling, but I now think the increased resolution has impacted the tonal gradations, even on smaller images (and certainly the sensor/processor handling of color has impacted this too).
RAW, converted directly for this post via Capture NX2; Neutral; AUTO WB.
BTW, I checked your other thread, and I can't see a problem at all. If you can find another camera that can shoot ISO6400 as cleanly as what you posted, at anywhere near the price of the D7000, buy it...
Use View NX2 or Capture NX2, or both. They are the ONLY two programs that can "decode" Nikon RAW files the way they have actually been shot by the camera.
Even so, what you've got so far looks fine mechanically.

Actually, the Pentax K5 shares the same sensor. I have switched to Nikon from Pentax because of the better AF and flash system but the Pentax, especially the K5 (I had the K7 wich has the same body) has improved on the traditionally weak spots - high ISO and AF.
