In the 5300 etc forum, someone asked about "Anti-Aliasing Filter - Upgrade from D3200 to D5300?" Somewhere in the discussion, it was mentioned that even though they have the same sensor, the 7100 at ISO 12800, pix were full of artifacts and that ISO 6400 the 7100 pix weren't as good as the 5300 at 12800. It was suggested that this might be due to the Expeed 4 processor.

I had been planning on upgrading from a 5100 to a 7100 (based on the d610 vs d800 vs d4 discussion). I seems to me that while going to a 7100 would be a step up from the 5100 it would be a step down. from the 5300 if one is basing the judgment on picture quality alone.

When I mentioned this, other features of the 7100 that are not on the 5300 were mentioned and it was suggested that I ask here in the forum specializing in the 7xxx platforms.

So what are the thoughts of 7100 users. (It was also suggested that I wait to upgrade until after a trade show in hopes that a 7200 would be introduced) Thoughts?
