I have a d7000 and a d90. The d7000 seems to exhibit what I call intermittent AF. It seems to have problems when it is zoomed in and I move from something far away to something near. On the other hand it seems to not follow any set pattern as sometimes it will have a mind of its own.

I have tested in a Sigma 18-200.

I had the entire AF part changed and the camera was given a once over. The same problems have surfaced as they were before the so called repair. I was thinking I bringing back to them but am not sure if there is a problem.

Maybe I am just asking too much of the AF.

I put the Sigma on my d90 and it was pretty much flawless.

So what is going on?

I have a job coming up and would like to use the d7000 as my main body but if this is not fixed I can keep it as my backup until this mystery is solved.
