I was removing the battery from my D7000 to charge when I dropped it. The battery had maybe 25% remaining. I placed it in the charger, and now it won't charge. When I put it back in the camera, I get a dead battery indication. There is no obvious damage to the battery. Could it possibly have broken something inside when I dropped it? Anyone else experienced this? I am stuck in Varna, Bulgaria wihtout a functioning battery.

The fall could have damaged something internally. Did the charger blink when you mounted the battery? Try reseating it in the charger and make sure it's making good contact.
If it's really dead: Given you are in the third-largest city in Bulgaria, there's a good chance someone sells Nikon accessories in the area. Not sure what you'd pay for it though. Perhaps check with your hotel to get phone numbers or maybe the concierge can help?
