I use a round rubber eyecup on my D300s and would like to do the same with the d7100. What parts do I need to accomplish this? With the d300s I use the following kit: Nikon DK-3 eye cup; (2) Nikon FM2 eye piece; and (3) Nikon DK-22 adapter.
I too use the Hoodman egg shaped cup, and don't usually do anything when shooting vertically. Since it 'S soft rubber, the long part just seems to smooth fairly smoothly into my cheek or eyebrow (depending on which way I hold the camera). Take care, CK Nikonian in Ontario, Canada

1. Have not wanted to remove it. 2. Depends on how hard you press the eyecup. I am not having a problem with it on the D7100. I use the viewfinder with my left eye.
This HoodMan EyeCup comes as a unit. It includes a square adapter.
