I received an e-mail today from B&H that they are expecting to receive their first shipment of the D7100 tomorrow and plan to start shipping then. They're also offering $50-200 instant rebates on several Nikon lenses and flashes if purchased on the same order (or added to backordered bodies).
I too got the same email from B&H today. So how many cameras do you think B&H will get in this shipment? I hope mine is there so I can have it soon. I sent B&H my D7000,two lens and a Canon video camera for a trade in on this camera. Tuesday they told me they are going to give me $1045 towards the Nikon D7100 body.
Mathers of Lancashire photography in the UK are saying today for arrival of first bodies. Guess they'll dispatch soon. Also, they are the only UK Nikon dealer offering the camera at £100 less than other outlets
>Earlier this morning Amazon.com said they had 9 D7100 in >stock, a few minutes ago that number was 4. I assume that >meant they received enough cameras to fill the pre-orders and >still had a few left.
I notice the same thing at Amazon and watched the ticker on body only go down while thinking my pre-order would be filled? Big mistaka!!!
Count went to -0-, and my order wasn't filled, Amazon now telling me April 25th.
Actually it was guys like you and Dave Sommers that really got me thinking about the potential benefits of the 7100 for nature shooting. So when I read this thread this AM I called my nearest brick and mortar store in Oshkosh around noon and they had just received their shipment . . . 4 kits and 2 bodies only. I told them I was on the way over after work and made it there 1/2 hour before closing. BINGO!!
First impressions are solid, well laid out - other than the goofy zoom controls. I did some quick handhelds in the house with 24-120 f4 VR and wow - very sharp! I can't wait to try it out on some birds - I'll take it up to my cabin this weekend.
I wanted to get the grip also, but they're not shipped yet.
My D7100 was picked up at the local brick and mortar in Portland today. Can't wait to test that focus system. If it indeed matches my D4 say goodbye to the best camera I've ever owned. I like it, it doesn't like me. My poor technique with the D4 has given me tendonitis in my right elbow :~(
I got my shipping notice from Amazon last night...it's supposed to be delivered on Tuesday the 19th. Even though I am a Prime member with free 2 day shipping I opted to spend the additional 3.99 for 1 day shipping so don't know why it's taking till Tuesday to be delivered but that's ok...at least I'm not waiting months like I did with the d7000. Now I can send my D7000 off for a good cleaning...my pictures are plagued with lots of spots that look like the ones everyone is complaining about with the D600.
B&H sent me a email notice today. My Nikon D7100 will get here on March 20th. I had already sent B&H my D7000 for trade in on this fine camera. I just bought a Quantum Trio basic to use with my other Quantum Td5r and FreeWire. I was playing around with it on my Nikon D600 to see how it works. The Quantum Qflash system is hard to beat. It beats carrying around my Calumet mono lights. I also just bought a used Lensaline on here. So I can play around with that also.
My Nikon D 7100 just arrived about 4:40 this after noon. What I don't like is no my menus but can live with it. No LCD screen cover. That worries me. The rest of the cameras is fine so far. Faster focus and seems right on. But didn't test in low light yet. I will get out side and shoot to see what I get. I want to try my 35 mm f/1.8, 50 mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, 80-200 mm f/2.8 and Tamron 200-500mm that I shoot the moon with. Might try that tonight if the moon is out. How do I calculate what 500 mm comes out at 1.3 crop? I know the 1.5 crop calculations.
What >I don't like is no my menus but can live with it.
This was posted elsewhere... "My camera came with Recent Settings as the default option, but there is a "Choose Tab" which toggles it to "My Menu". Thanks for the heads up. I didn't take the time to open the book."
I just got the dam thing boy. Let me tell you what is really pissing me off. The sensor is as dirty as my D600 or worse. Anybody else checked that out or had this with the Nikon D7100? I'm about ready to get rid of both cameras and buy a Canon. Nikon puts out nothing but #### from the factory. I used to really like them but might switch soon.
My new Nikon D 7100 has dust or dirt all over it and there are streak running at an angle from left corner to right. I used my visible dust Arctic butterfly on it but didn't take the streaks off only most of the dust.Should I send this back to B&H? Does anybody have this going on? The same thing happened to my Nikon D 600. Makes me want to pull all my hair out. Getting real sick of Nikon real fast. Spend all this money for what!

Thanks for the reply Bill. I'm sorry I sort of jumped on you. It's my fault I didn't read this right the first time around. I will check this out. I might also just leave it alone like it is and just get used to it.
Here is two pictures you ask for. Nothing works for me nothing I can't get the picture I want to load here. Why even try any more I'm sick of all of it. Maybe you can see in the middle of the building there are light spots and some in the sky. There are some in the snow but that's dirt from high winds here.

No need to apologize, at all. So no worries. But I would do as Stan suggested. And actually, as your situation is sounding unique relative to the D7100, I'd just send it back.

I just got back from UPS and sent that Nikon D 7100 back to B&H. I called them and they called me right back no waiting on the phone. Great customer service and that's why I like to buy from B&H. They just do it right. The bad thing is they will be closed when this gets there and they will not do anything until April 3. So I might not see a Nikon D 7100 until April 8th or later. I have a shoot coming up in April and need the camera. Thanks to Nikon for helping me out with that. I was looking at a Fujifilm XE1 and the Panosonic G3. Will Crocket talks highly of both of these cameras. If I get the Panosonic I then need to buy a lens that I don't have. Another Panosonic is the G5 is also a good camera with high reports.
