Does anyone know whether the current level of capture NX2 (2.4.0, I believe) will support the D7100 on day 1? How long does it normally take Adobe to add support for a new model camera to Lightroom? Thanks.
If the past practice is continuesd with the D7100, the included version of ViewNX will render the raw files and an updated version of Capture NX2 will become available very quickly for a free upgrade. Adobe will take longer, maybe a month or two. The initial releases of Adobe ACR seem to lag behind in rendering quality but they fine tune it so by a 6-12 months it is pretty competitive with Capture NX2 Stan St Petersburg Russia
Thanks, Stan. I had forgotten that Nikon ships View/NX with all of their DSLR's. I have been using CNX2 for years, but I'm trialing LR since it may be able to do most of what I need and I don't have a lot of faith in Nikon's commitment to CNX2.
To update my recent post, Nikon Rumors now states that the original blurb from Adobe which included the D7100 in the group of cameras which can have their NEF read by Camera RAW 7.4.xxxxx, has been retracted. Oh, well....
