Has anyone tried out the D7000 on event shoots? My D7000 might be purchased this week, and I have an event on Tuesday 11/30.

What I've found with my D80, shooting with the 50mm F1.8 is that the auto-focus will often grab a vertical line sufficiently behind the person(s) I'm shooting to put the subject(s) out of focus. In lowlight, I'm often shooting at F1.8-2.2, or so, shortening the DOF, as well. I'm certainly looking forward to higher ISOs, too. And am also curious if folks are using ISO 3200 or 6400 for lowlight events.

I'm curious how this focusing dilemma might be overcome, and which setting is being used? 39-point?

Thanks!

G
