I just put on the GGS lens protectors on both the LCD and control panel screen. The clarity is 100 times better than the plastic cover from Nikon. I even think the LCD screen is now sharper than with out any protective cover. If wear and tear hold up as others have said I will be a very satisfied customer
Agree as well. But I still think the reflective coating is insanely bright. I wish there was a protector that does not reflect any light back... matte.
The original Nikon piece of plastic is a protector for shipping the camera... I have the GGS protector on my D7000 and D800. The quality of the product is superb, no question. The reflection is the price....
Probably the only remedy for the reflection issue is to buy matte finish stick on clear protectors that can be custom fitted by cutting to size. Seems redundant, but might be the only way to reduce the reflections.
I bought my GGS protection for a new D7000 body I'd bought in March and bought the two protector version as I don't see the point of fitting a protector to the optical eyepiece. I had used the supplied Nikon plastic one for a few months but it was already showing some scratches when I was preparing for a holiday a few weeks back so I read the reviews for the GGS product and bought. Glad I did!
I don't have a lot of luck with plastic protectors. The D7000 is my third Nikon and I've lost count of how many plastic protectors I've gone through. On average I was replacing a protector after several months at one stage. Hopefully that's a thing of the past.
I shot some movie footage for the first time ever, using the D7000 and also found glare/reflections a serious issue in strong sunshine.
