I am using a battery grip that can hold either a battery or AA batteries. When I have all regular batteries I get level indicators for both. When I insert the AA batteries I get a level indicator for the internal battery and a flashing BP. I can't find out what BP means in the manual (battery power?) Does the BP mean that the AAs are engaged and being used by the camera? How can I tell what is going on with the AAs in reference to power consumption?

Have you setup the camera to use the internal battery first or the grip battery first..
have a look at this post for some general info on grips
post #6 tells you how to set the battery usage if you dont already know about it.

I have not told the camera what battery is being used. I just assumed it would know because with a regular battery it show a level indicator. I do know that the AA use is not the most idea way to use the grip but I would like to know I can get it operating. I have been using exclusively with a regular single battery in the grip.
