I did the same last night and ordered from them and paid a little extra for 2-3 day shipping. Called today to verify they had received my order and asked them a few questions and I didn't get any answers that left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. I asked if they were affiliated with the brick and mortar Ritz camera, ( No, we are a separate company) So, can I take the camera to a Ritz brick and mortar if I have any warranty issues? ( No, call the phone number on the paperwork that will be included with your camera.). Do you actually have any of these refurb cameras in stock? ( No, we are waiting on a shipment from the manufacture. Should be here in 3-5 business days) I told the guy on the phone that I really did not want to be lured into a back order situation that may have me waiting months for a refurb. body. I was told I could cancel the order anytime before it ships so looks like I'll wait the 3-5 days before canceling.

That certainly is a rather shady practice!! Almost as bad as those low-ball priced bait'n'switch outfits.
What’s even more disconcerting is doing an Amazon search for the D7000 and seeing all the vultures taking advantage of the short supply at the moment. There’s one guy who wants to sell a used body for $2800!!

I picked up a D7000 Refub from them last month. It did take a little over a week to recieve it. Worth the wait, it was about as brand new and mint condition as you could get. It only had 3 Shutter clicks on it. I Up graded from the D90 and love this camera.
Never had a problem wit items that I have ordered from them. But their Customer Service is not very helpful when trying to check on a status of your order. Their online tracking is worse. It can never find my order when I put the order number in from the Email.
Yeah the money came out of my account Friday. And I get this email Sat. night/Sun. morning at @ 4am.

I was told Friday by Heather @ ext. 250 that the cameras had come into the warehouse and would probably ship this weekend. I feel I've been duped by Ritzcamera.com. Bait and switch is one of the oldest tricks in the book. embarrassed I fell for it.

I got a shipping notification and a fed ex tracking number. And it was initiated but not picked up yet so I'll keep you posted. I'm hoping because it was late Friday when I got the notice that's why I hasn't shipped yet. Fed ex should pick it up Monday and deliver it Tuesday hopefully. That's my expected delivery date.
If I get mine I'll be happy but if not I'll be mad because I sold my d5000 on Friday!
I think they didn't know how many they would get from Nikon so they left the link up for purchase and prayed they'd get enough. I'm about to check to see if they're still selling it.

I snagged a new body only from Amazon yesterday before they sold out. Already on the truck headed my way. maybe next week I can start posting some meaningful material. I would post shots I have but their all Canon.
Called my bank this morning to get the payment stopped and they said I could not since I had already authorized the amount and the charge was pending. I guess thats why the Cus service lady called me Friday to have me authorize the charge before the order was filled. Seems to have locked me into the deal. Even after my conversation with Cus service over the weekend to try and cancel the order. it apparently shipped this morning. So now I have to refuse delivery and wait until the camera gets back to them to get a refund of my $. Meanwhile, my new body from Amazon for only $80 more, will be here tomorrow. Without any hasstle or having to pre approve a charge. gonna try to put Ritzcamera.com behind me now.
Looks good. Came in a Nikon refurb box with the Nikon ninety day warranty inside. The ritz warranty was emailed to me yesterday so that's cool that I'm covered even if it's just for piece of mind. It was free so I can't complain. I think the battery's full but I'm going to charge it up anyways. I can't comment on focusing issues.
Seems ok. Not going to pay attention to the focusing issue threads unless I find something in my own shooting. I'll work on my technique evaluate coming from a d5000 I can already see that the d5000 was handholding me lol.

Glad to see things worked out for you, I’m sure you’re going to love your D7000.
Being that it’s a Nikon factory refurb, I’d be surprised if you notice any issues with the camera. Presently I know of only two issues that affect a minor amount of units. They are 1, a need for focus recalibration that you state, and 2, the right side debris collection due to a malfunctioning part. Being that Nikon is now aware of these two issues, I would think they would have checked your unit for them before certifying it.

I picked up my D7000 bodies just before Xmas, and I'm making the transition from a D5000. It's a fun learning process. I try to practice on a single "weakness" I have daily. I have many weaknesses, so there's plenty of things to practice!
Their Customer Service does suck. I recieved the same Email when I purchased my camera from them. And they had know idea why I recieved that email since it was in stock and already prepped for shipment. I recieved that Email on a Sunday and had the camera by that Thursday.
Ritz wasn't shady with me. I actually got the camera and warranty right when they said I'd get it. A year warranty that covers accidental damage for free was worth it in my opinion even if I need use it.
I'm also getting state farm just in case of theft.
Got an email on the 12th saying that the shipping info had been sent to FedEx, but nothing after that. Tracking info says FedEx doesn't have it. I can't very well refuse delivery to start the process of getting a refund if it's never shipped now can I? Meanwhile I'm out $1000+ until I can get it resolved. I ordered a D7000 from Ritz.com and had the same heart palpatations. Mine came as described in 2 says...not 3-5 and is GREAT!!! I would buy from them again. The last 2 I bought from Ritz were a D50 and N80. Both were perfect too...this goes back 11 years total, but I am now committed to Ritz.
As for the Camera: The D7000 I bought from Amazon is 10/10. love shooting with it. Bought a 35mm 1.8 from B&H and a(display) 55-200 from wally world. I really like the 35mm. As soon as I get get some post worthy pix I'll post them up.
