Hey everyone,
New guy to the forums here, hoping you all can help. I've had my D7000 a few months, love it, yadayada. I come from a film background so I'm especially interested in the D7000 as a video camera. Anyway, recently bought a Rode NTG-2 XLR mic and a XLR to 3.5mm converter cable. Plugged it all together and the audio I'm getting is TERRRRIBLE. It sounds like I'm talking through a bad telephone connection. I've tried switching the mic sensitivity options in the menu, and I've tweaked the only switch on the mic itself (high pass filter) and almost nothing changed. Any ideas? This is an EXCELLENT microphone. Is there some sort of compatibility issue?
