OK, disclaimers first: the picture is reproduced at a tiny 150 pixels on the long side, I've never previously heard of Schmap Guides, and there's no fee, BUT, it's still pretty neat.
Schmab is an interactive web-based travel guide, also optimized for certain smart phones. Unfortunately the link you would use to go to the page with my image is kind of weird and the forum software won't accept it, but you can see exactly how the photo is displayed and credited in the iPhone version of the guide at:
One thing I meant to add. This publication plays up for me, the benefits of Creative Commons licensing. Of course it makes it less likely that people would pay for my images, but I'm not doing this with the intention of getting paid and I have little expectation my images would generate anything other than a de minimis, sporadic cash flow even if I heavily promoted them for that purpose. The Schmap people contacted me a few weeks ago to tell me the image was shortlisted and to ask my permission, which arguably wasn't necessary under my CC license (the scope of commercial use can be hard to define at the margins), but was certainly good form. They also indicated that it was chosen based in part on the CC license. By no means does this mean that CC is for everyone, but it works for me and certainly is the right fit for at least some people.
