I hope this came to the right forum. Anyway many of us might have been published without knowing it!

On this website www.pixdaus.com there is a lot of copyrighted photos from several photographers all over the world! Pictures have been copied from different sources, including photo agencies and posted without permissions. And it seems they are very willing to continue expanding. Most of the photographs are not tagged and the names of the photographers are not mentioned. Users, who constantly upload photos are not usually photographers themselves. Admin of the site has removed single photos, when asked, but he claims that that's all he can do. Nothing seems to prevent the users to upload continuously more and more copyrighted material

Pixdaus is a commercial site; admin makes great deal of money from registration fees and advertisements, over 1000 dollars each day. Beautiful photos attract people to the site! There is also evidence of potential customers and many visitors leaving their email addresses for buying the photos!

We, a group of Finnish photographers found our own photos and also many photos of other Finnish professional photographers, nature photographers and journalists from the site! We have contacted a number of Finnish photo-organisations, copyright authorities and other sites in effort to solve this continuous copyright violation.

Now we want to make this issue noticed also internationally. Organisations informed so far: Finnish Nature Photographers, Finnfoto, Finnish Pressphotographers Association, Kuvasto (the copyright supervising authority in Finland) and the European Commission Representation in Finland.

We have also informed Swedish professional Photographers and Norwegian Professional Photographers and also NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association).

A photograph is property of the photographer. If we allow this kind of activity we don't know where it can lead. If we photographers make a collective statement that we don't tolerate this, we can stop it.

However be very careful, if you visit the site! Make sure that your computer is fully protected!
