Hello there,

Is there anyone here who is busy with improving the video quality from the D5100?

As known the 5100 got a 16.2 megapixel cmos censor and can do HD 1080p video. Yet, while filming in video it uses the H264 codec what is on it self a lossy comopression.

The sensor does max 4,928 × 3,264 pixels so in theorie it should be able to do the UHD1 of 3840 x 2160 when the codec does 50 Mbits/pro second.

With the standard codec it does not more then 18 Mbits/ pro second so there is the lost.

Any one got progress with this subject?
