Hello, Im still new to the forum. I always been into shooting Portriats as well as Car photography. I currently own a 50mm 1.8g, 35mm 1.8g, and stock 18-55mm on a D5100 body. I'm planning to get another lens, probably a wide angle lens.
I just want some input maybe which lens you guys prefer for Car photography?
You may be able to get the look you want at the 18mm end of your 18-55, so give that a try. But three of the four photos you've posted do look like they used a wider lens. Here are three you might consider:
Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 (excellent value, good image quality, definitely the value leader for DX wide angles.)
Nikon 10-24 (wider zoom range might help at the long end, and it's a Nikon.)
Sigma 8-16 (widest lens at the wide end, excellent image quality.)
There are a few other options for wide angles, but from what you've said those are the three I'd look at.
Your going to have to have a Camera tied to those lens with ISO setting fast enough for stop motion. several of the photos the car was moving if you shoot at ISO 100, 200 even 400 the pictures will be out of focus or just a blur.

I use the Sigma 10-20 on my D5100. There are 2 of them, I have the slower and cheaper one (4-5.6). It works great for car shows, closeups, etc.
You should also look at a good telephoto. Lost of shots are better from long range, and the telephoto compresses the photo well. Look at the Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS, and the Nikkors (80-200 2.8 AF-S) and (70-200 2.8 VR)
