I took both of these with my Nikon D3000 today.
The only real difference I can see is that the focus is more to the front of the picture in one, and towards the back in the next.
I am unsure how I accomplished these 2 different versions of focus of the same thing as I was shooting this area continuously and without resetting/refocuses/etc the camera. These were shot without a tripod and I was holding the camera when all images were taken.
I am pleased with both but would be interested in any/all feedback - positive or negative.

I like the color and exposure of the second (darker), but the focus and composition of the first. Both shots are slanted, but the first has more, while the second has just enough to look like it might have been by mistake.
If the camera had locked focus for the first picture then you moved without refocusing, that would explain the focus shift.
