I'm going to post this in both the D5000 forum and the Underwater forum (after visiting the UW forum, I am feeling a little depressed with my equipment) and see what if anything pops up.

I am going to take my D5000 in an Opteka plastic bag ("housing") to Aruba and see if I can get any good underwater shots while snorkling. My biggest concern is what mode to shoot in and how to preset the camera. I will not likely get a lot of opportunity to adjust the camera because I will be limited in both time and camera control accessibility (through the plastic bag).

I don't trust the Opteka bag well enough to put my D300 or D300S in it, so I'll make do with the D5000 (and I don't think the others would offer many advantages because of the camera access through the bag).

I don't have high hopes, but I am going to try anyway. That being said, what do you guys recommend for pre-settings (mode, aperture, shutter speeds, focal length, etc.).

Depending on aperture recommendations, I will select the lens I put on the camera. I have a 50 f/1.4 (that I would use at max f=2.0 for best clarity) and have an 18-135 f/3.5 - 5.6, and an 18-200 f/3.5 - 5.6 VR that should all fit in the housing.

D810, D750, N1-J5, N1-V3 (and a few other cameras) and a BIG handful of lenses.
