I purchased an old film slr flash. how I have to set the flsh settings in the D5100 to sinchronize it via RF remote flash units? Thanks from Argentina.

To use remote flash units with radio triggers (trasmitter on the camera hotshoe, flash mounted on the radio receiver) you don't need to do anything other than keep the shutter speed low enough - I'd suggest 1/160 or slower. The flash will be triggered every time the shutter is fired.

Welcome to Nikonians!
If you want to use an RF remote to trigger a remote flash unit, you must place the transmitter into the cameras hotshoe which disables the built-in Speedlight.
I would recommend setting the ISO Manually and setting the camera in Manual exposure mode. Set the Aperture based on the flash to subject distance using the Guide Number or the calculator on the remote Speedlight.
The maximum sync speed of the D5100 is 1/200th sec.
Some RF Triggers will sync at the maximum sync speed of the camera, others will not. Some require using a shutter speed 1, 2, or even 3 steps slower than the maximum sync speed. Check the Users Manual of your RF Triggers.
