My 700 is on its way to Melville. I received a couple of new Lexar UDMA7 800X 16GB cards from the B&H sale. Downloaded some pictures I had on the camera already on another Lexar card, an 600x UDMA 8GB card. Once done, removed it and inserted the new card. The green LED on the back flashed on/off as is usual. I turned the camera on. It came on for about 2 seconds and went off completely. I took the card out and reinserted. No green LED activity and when I turned it on - Nothing. The top LCD has no display, no activity on light on the back. Oh well, the online line estimate from Nikon was $224 + shipping for "No power" category.

In troubleshooting, I also removed and replaced the battery, put in a newly charged battery, changes lens and finally tried it with both the lens and card out. At least I have my 7000 for the Christmas family pics.
