Hi All,

Please forgive my probably dumb question, but I am confused about this option. When I choose JPEG Size Large vs. Medium vs. Small, the manual says that the D700 delivers(approximately) 12MP, 6MP or 3MP sized images. My question is how do these sizing changes really work? Is all of the data from all of the pixels on the sensor collected for all three sizes? Or is some of this data not counted for the smaller sizes?

Sorry to ask, I have always chosen Large and JPEG Fine for max JPEG quality, but I have wondered what happens when Med and Small are chosen.

Thank you in advance for helping me to better-understand my camera!

Best to All,

Rick
