Nissin di866 Mark 2 not working properly on D700
I just got a D700 (finally) and had an event last night with my trusty Nissin di866 M2. Well to moderately lit areas of the room it was no problem, the camera and flash were great (even if the focus points confuse me coming froma D90). In much darker areas I could not get my AF-light on the Nissin to kick on. According to nissin there is no way to turn this on or off in the unit so it must be something related to the camera.
I put the speed light back on the D90 to test the AF-light under the exact same conditions and it worked 100%. So clearly there is something in the D700 that I am missing.

For a D300 and SB-800 the camera must be set to AF-S and the center focus point must be selected for the AF-assist illumination to work. Similar restrictions probably apply to the D700 and your Nissin flash.
