Do PDF\'s work on the Kindle Fire?
The Kindle line uses the Mobi file type and not the more popular ePub format.

I've tried this - and it works - sort of.
The pdf can be read and even though some of the formatting goes missing, it is still useable.
The main issue is that the search doesn't seem to work - and that no links are created. So in reality, you have the complete text but no way to navigate.
So for me, this is only something to use in an emergency.
I still have it stored on the Kindle so I do have access to the information if I absolutely need it - but it is not something I use.
This is for the Kindle 2 - things might have changed for the new versions - so I would just try it and see what happens.

I also suggest looking at the Kindle APP store; I've had my Fire for about 7 days and installed a Free Nikon app that provides menu settings for common lighting situations. Applicable to many Nikon cameras including the D700.
I haven't fully explored it yet, but I just wanted to advise it's there.
Search the APP store using Photography for additional related apps.

Not all tablets fully support the PDF format or the PDF format does not re-flow as the tablet needs the format to rearrange. Also the PDF needs to be created with the re-flow for accessibility active. That is why one should use the e-publication format required by your tablet.
