I am not quite so sure what it is about this lens but when you hook it up to a full FX camera (N90 was my old favorite) it comes to life.
These two shots are just what they are, snap shots. I was walking through my house out to the pool when I saw this windows shot (sorry I did not clean up some of the items)when the sun and light and colors just jumped out.
Then I went out onto the pool deck and saw the straw grass is its late afternoon sun and well, here it is.
These shots are not at all corrected but do have some cropping. I welcome only positive comments (just kidding).

agreed its a superb lens
i could not of got this shot without it
iso 6400 1/25s wide open
but even more i love the 85mm f1.8 i have its terrific
like the grass pic by the way
if your pictures arent good enough
your not close enough..
