I received my D700 late yesterday and will be getting my Nikon 24-120mm f/4 lens tommorow. Of course, I couldn't wait to play around with my new camera. I attached an old Nikkor 80-400 4.5-5.6D lens that I have and went outside to snap a few shots. I was amazed at the clarity and lack of vignetting with this lens....amazing for such an old lens!

We have a very strong front blowing in and I was snapping the pictures holding the huge, heavy lens in my hand, (no tripod). The D700 must be an outstanding camera being that it allowed me to snap such clear shots with the heavy lens in very windy conditions. Zoom is at 300mm.

Needless to say.... I am VERY pleased!

Here is a sample....(I think the full size is now in My Gallery)
The JFK Bridge is roughly 1.75 miles away.
