>"deserve's to be applauded" - why? Nurses, >teachers, social workers, policemen, firemen, etc. are doing >valid & important work for society. Don't they deserve a >discount too?
You'll have to ask Ritz, most airlines, car rental companies, hotels, cruise lines, movie theatres, theme parks, car insurance, auto dealers, ski resorts, etc, etc, why they offer discounts to miltary personel. Perhaps they feel there is something military folks do that sets them apart from the folks you mention.
Yes Police do get discounts. Many companies have Law Enforcement Discounts for those who strap on a badge and gun everyday. Its just a matter of providing your law enforcement status and then you get the discount from a set a side program that the company offers. If you google LEO discounts I'm sure you will find many companies such as Oakley, North face ect...
Just got my D700 yesterday. My first shot was of a Ferris Wheel at night. Absolutely outstanding!!
I am a contractor currently serving in Afghanistan. Although I am technically "in harms way", in actuality, I am pretty safe on the confines of Bagram Air Field. I don't need or want the discount.
If it were up to me, they would get stuff for free. I was just witness to yet another Fallen Comrade Ceremony. It's a very emotional experience to see the flag draped coffins in the back of the Humvee. 14 in the past two weeks...
Please thank a serviceman/woman when you see them. That is all.

You have to go through www.aafes.com first. Once you have signed in to that site, click on the "shop by retailer" pull down tab and click on Ritz Camera. You will then be redirected to Ritzcameragov.com, where you will get 10% off your purchase.
