I'm looking for a Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable to connect a D700 to our SX-80 Projector (it has an HDMI input).
I've found 1m, 2m and 3m cables (3-6-9 feet) online and in our local stores. The longer cable would be easier to use but longer cables sometimes cause problems. What is the longest cable that should be used for this connection?
I'm also looking for a good source -- one local store has a 2m cable for $99 (CAD) which is a steep price.

There is a wide variety of HDMI specifications and related cables on the market. Be careful to order a correct type of cable. Nothing less than 1.3a specification is required to be on the safe side regarding the cable length and functionality.
Read the following link about HDMI specifications.
Actually, the difference between 1.3 and 1.3a specification is marginal, so you can also use 1.3 cable, but not less, because the mini HDMI connector, used by D700, has been introduced in 1.3 specification.
