Real trouble keeping photos consistent on the D700. Most photos are over saturated. I have pulled the saturation back in CS3 by -20 to make them look real. Another problem is that I can shoot an event and some photos are real dark while others will be totally blown out. No setting changes (most times I won't even move) and normally all these problems are happening all the time (one dark, one blown out and both over saturated). Any suggestions on this?
Is the photo you posted intended to illustrate over saturation?
It doesn't look over saturated to me. I certainly do not have this problem. However, compared to the D200 and D300 on which I boosted saturation in the in-camera settings to get photos I thought were pleasing; I find that leaving the saturation settings at their default or neutral settings produces very natural looking color.
This photo was probably not the most saturated one i have. I am shooting in STANDARD mode right now. bracketing is off as well. It seems to change from one minute to the next. Shoot two or three and they are dark, shoot the next two or three and they are blown out... is there a way to lower the saturation a little just to see if it would help?
