Okay, I can’t seem to find the answer in the manual. When I look through the view finder there is a band around the perimeter that is darker (grayed)than the center. I've only tried the 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8 so far. I’m currently using a Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 lens wich is not a DX lens. I have auto DX set to “off”. Also, I have the “grid” set to “on”, but it doesn’t appear. I assume that I am not shooting DX as my photos seem to be full frame. Is the perimeter grayed area normal? How do I get the grid to appear? I can’t seem to find the answers in the manual or Nikoscope.

Stop and take the picture, you may not get a second chance.
