What are you doing October 13, 2012?
Thousands of people will be hitting the streets, neighborhoods, and their surrounding areas for the 5th Annual World Wide Photowalk. Will you be one of them?
We here at Nikonians want to encourage all our members to participate in the adventure. Once you register at the official site at http://worldwidephotowalk.com join us on the forums here to prepare for your photowalk adventure. Our community is a great place to learn about your camera and get ideas for you to try. And after the walk is over it is time to share! Our forums are a great place to share the pictures you take.
No walk in your area? Volunteer to be a leader! You can register to be a photowalk leader at http://worldwidephotowalk.com/leader/ and then come to Nikonians to get others involved and to share your experiences in the Photowalks forum.

I've led walks as part of this program the past three years. It's a lot of fun - and pretty easy. Just pick a favorite place and a casual restaurant or bar for after the walk.
It's a great chance to do something different with your photography. Pick a single lens - maybe a prime or an inexpensive zoom. My last walk I used my D200IR and got a really neat picture of a skateboarder using IR. Don't use a tripod unless you are going to that kind of location where it is expected.
I won't be leading a walk this year - I'm traveling that day and my walk would have to be in an airport or on a plane. Looking forward to reports from walks - and hopefully some photos posted here.
