One of my goals for this year is to improve my site, www.davidsexton.net. I have recently incorporated a blog onto the home page in order to change the content regularly, now I have to back that up with more regular content. I used no templates etc., coded the whole thing myself from scratch except for the flash xml plugin to show off the images.
I think the alignment is too jumbled,, there are too many left borders. The banner is all the way to the left, the nav menu is all the way to the right. That's OK, but after that I'd define exactly one more left border that everything else aligns with. Or do something to strengthen and simplify the vertical alignment.
You use a shade of blue for links and also for <h1>s. These shouldn't be the same colors.
Hey David, cool last name...Anyway I checked out your site. And I'm saying this with a brotherly advice kind of tone in my voice. I believe that blogging as we used to know it, is if not dead, well it's on the way out. Yes, I know there's some blogs that are popular, but for the most part FACEBOOK has taken over. You might find it easier to blog on facebook, and quiet frankly reach more people. NOW I WILL say the opposite. I HATE FACEBOOK! But it's a reality that must be dealt with. All my clients have stopped blogging and started Facebooking, because quiet simply, its been more effective in getting exposure ( pun intended!)
Hey, thanks for reading, really. And good luck, nice pix too!
