I am new to photo printing and purchase the Epson R1800 based upon all the raves I read here about it.

I can't seem to get a decent print out of it.

I regularly calibrate my monitor with a HUEY.

I print from Photoshop CS.

I read here a lot about color profiles.

With my old HP photosmart 1100 printer I never changed any settings and got decent prints.

When I call the Epson support line, they told me to clean the heads and nozzles which I have done several times. Epson even sent me a new printer and this one is only slightly better than the original. EVen the test patterns show the red as a hot pink and the blue as purple.

Any ideas on how to get me on the right track? Help is appreciated.
