Hello!

I just got a Coolscan 9000 ED (it's huge!) to scan in my medium format negatives. It scans at 4000 dpi and the file it create is 130 megs uncompressed or 75 megs as a high quality jpg. I'd like to scan in all my negatives but this file size is way too large. I'd like to maintain enough detail to do anything I want in the future. I'm sure I don't this big a file. Should I go into photoshop and reduce dpi or image size? I'd like to think of these scans as my digital negatives.

How big a file do you save?

Thanks!
