Anyone update to Mountain Lion and have issues printing? Just tried to print from LR5 & CS6. The Page Setup and Print dialog look different. I don't get the option anymore to choose roll paper etc. When I hit "print" and then I open the printer icon in the tool bar, it looks like it loads the file and sends to the printer, but the printer does not print. I downloaded the latest printer driver, but that didn't seem to help either.
It's a set of default drivers that's included in the Mac operating system. Several people on this forum (including me) have run into situations in the past where our systems have switched over to the Gutenprint drivers instead of the Epson drivers we installed. The common clue is the radically different user interface that lacks some of the higher-end features of the Epson drivers. In my case, it happened with my 3880 printer driver. It's been a while since it happened, but I think I may have either moved or deleted the Gutenprint drivers, reinstalled the Epson ones and was then good to go. It may be worthwhile to do some internet searches on relevant terms before you do what I just mentioned. Good luck!

After a recent routine update from Apple, one that included an update to the Epson drivers, I could not print from *any* application. The file was sent to the printer driver but if I opened the printer driver from the dock I could see that the file "failed." I also got an error message/log-file saying that the issue was being automatically submitted to Apple (I chose this option when I set up the computer). The error message/log said: "filter failure" and that "rastertoescpII quit unexpectedly." If you have not turned on the option to report errors to Apple, you may or may not see the error message.
*IF* your problem has the same cause as mine, here is the solution I found on the Apple discussion forum:
"This issue may be a result of the Computer Name being left empty Open System Preferences and choose Sharing Enter a name for your computer Restart the Computer Test if you are able to print"
I followed this direction and everything has been happy ever since.
Got the issue resolved. Had to go into "Preferences" and under Printers I had to "Reset the Printers" This deleted all my printers and print jobs. I then reinstalled my two printers and everything worked fine. All the correct print dialoque boxes reapeared. Glad to have fixed, but there is 5 hours of my life I won't get back!!
