I have used an Epson 1280 printer since August with no problems until now. For some unknown reason, my photo prints will stop before they are complete. It may stop halfway, or at the end or the beginning. The problem seemed to get worse until I finally resorted to using the parallel port. It makes no difference if using Photoshop 7.0 or Qimage pro or 5X7 or 8X10 prints. My setup is:
Pentium 4 1.5Ghz
120 GB HD
1024 MB Ram
Win XP Pro
Has anyone else had this problem? Epson sent me a replacement printer and the problem got worse! They offered a full refund but I have a lot of money invested in paper and ink that would be useless with another brand. They are sending another printer.

I had the same problem when I had my 1280 hooked up to a USB port. I tried a variety of fixes including disconnecting all USB devices except for the printer - I still had the problem. Moving it to the parallel port cured the problem, and I've had no recurrences.

I just received a third printer from Epson and it must be the charm. It prints without a hitch. The first printer worked fine for three months, the second never did work correctly. To Epson's credit, they never hesitated to send another printer and even offered to refund if this did not work.
