I recently printed about 40 photos (4x6)which were converted from RAW to JPEG and uploaded to a photo lab. When I received the prints, the colors were "ok", but all the photos were darker than they appeared on my monitor ( an NEC PA241W-BK 24" Monitor). I am about to purchase a Syder4 but can't find anything in the specs to determine if the program adjusts for brightness as well as color. Will the Spyder4 include "brightness" in the overall monitor calibration? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, Spyders do account for monitor brightness, but some of what you are experiencing is the inherent difference between a light-emitting device (your monitor) and a light-reflecting surface (your print).
