Moved over to a new computer running Windows 7. Read that Nikon doesn't have a software that runs on Windows 7. There were some suggestion of getting a third party software but after reading on them, there doesn't seem to be a good solution.
As far as I recall I ended up using the file from the first link, and now both my Coolscan V and Coolscan 5000 works with Nikon Scan version 4.0.3 without any problems in Windows 7. It didn't work immediately, but in the end I succeeded.
I was angry when I read that Nikon was not planning to support their scanners for Windows 64 bit. I soon found a hack that allowed me to use the old software. Perhaps you have already heard of this hack, but here is a link.
