My R800 has died from exhaustion. I want to replace it with anther R800 or one of similar or better quality. I don't do big quantities of prints but like good quality. Suggestions and recommendations would be appreciated.
There is a $200 rebate on the R3000 right now (ran through February and was extended through March - don't know if it will be extended again), which brings it down to 599 (if purchased at B&H - haven't seen it cheaper than them).
The R800 uses the first inkset to include a gloss optimizer which was designed for glossy and luster papers. If you would like to continue with this type of inkset then I would recommend the Epson R2000. If you are a little more budget minded you might consider the replacement to the 1400 that Dennis recommends. The newer model is the Epson Artisan 1430. The 1430 uses the Claria inks which are enhanced dye inks which improve archival ratings to the equivalent of pigment inks.
