I bought the Epson R3000 and am loving it. I have gone through one of the ink cartridges that came with the printer. Where are members finding the best price on the Epson replacement ink? Epson is just under $32 per cartridge.
Like the others I have been satisfied with my purchases from Atlex. I also order from itsupplies.com which has prices and service (at least in my experience) comparable to Atlex. I bought my Epson 3800 printer from itsupplies.
I've bought from both Atlex and ITsupplies. From what I can tell by the advertising emails I get from both of them, they must be related somehow (their emails almost always are for the same stuff).
Anyway, it seems to me that Atlex prices are usually a bit cheaper but they charge for shipping. ITsupplies prices are a bit higher, but there's free shipping once you buy a certain amount. Worth running through both and seeing which gets you the best deal.
For R1900 ink the current comparison for all eight cartridges is $94.95 from B&H (no shipping to my address). From Atlex, the cartridges would be $91.92, with $9.99 shipping for a total of $101.91. It's close either way, but I probably wouldn't be ordering enough to defray the shipping cost.
For all I know, the comparison may better for the more expensive inks.
Another option is to buy bulk ink plus cartridges and refill your own at a fraction of the Epson cost. The secret is to use quality ink and cartridges. For my R3000 I am using Cone inks from inkjetmall(dot)com. Just make sure you follow their instructions and video. They are also very good at responding to help questions and have a lot of experience with Epson Pro printers. The Cone inks are a near perfect match to Epson and I have not experienced any clogged nozzles.
I have also just started using cone inks formy Epson 7890 after a lot of worrying, multiple email back and forth with the salesman and owner (Jon Cone) . I did get one defective cartridge but the tech support was very efficient and fedexed a replacement and provided good support. I have not printed enough to know how well it matches epson inks but I am going to go by the experience and judgement of several nikonians who have previously commented positively on cone inks ....
