I have a CanoScan D2400U scanner that has a film adaptor. However it has to work using Windows XP mode using a special Microsoft Twain driver within my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS.

This setup is a pain to use and I'm wondering if using my D300s and macro lens with with either a lightbox or slide projector for illumination would produce acceptable images of reversal material?

The Canoscan spec is 2400dpi for 35mm and 1200dpi for 120 but I suspect that the actual spec is 2400x1200 and 1200x600.
