Need help with Colormunki photo. Using Mac book pro OS 10.7. Can not get Colormunki photo to activate. Tried everything X-rite suggests
on their trouble shooting page. In system preferences, X-rite devices, it shows unit is connected and displays serial number.

Any chance you fit into the situations mentioned here:
Did you try repairing permissions? Then reboot?
On occasion, I have had to use the Disk Utility from the OS install disk rather than as outlined on
the webpage. Maybe the magic there was the two reboots involved when running from the install disk.

Thanks for the info. I tried everything several times, but can't get the activate button to work. When you repair permission, do you have Colormunki connected or disconnected? I tried both ways with no help. I'm going to take it to work and see if it will work on a different computer.

I don’t believe it matters. Whenever I have talked with any tech support and the advice has been to repair permissions, it was never with the additional advice to have the device connected or the application running. I wold think you would want the opposite.
I hate to say this, but I had a similar problem long ago that I tracked down to a conflict with Quicken 2007. The Mac “saw” the Colormunki, but I couldn’t run it. I also had another conflict early on that interfered with iTunes and the ejection of CD-ROM’s. Both conflicts were with Leopard. So, you might have a software conflict. The only way I know of determining that is to delete all of your apps and then see if the Colormunki works. If it does, add your apps back in one at a time, each time retesting the Colormunki. You might first want to delete only the apps you don’t really use (that much). It is a real pain. Only other suggestions were to archive, reformat, and restore the HD - an even bigger pain. If you go back into the X-rite archives, you might find an application update that makes a reference to resolving conflicts. As I recall, it was a Colormunki app update that resolved the problem. Difficukt to say for certain, because I keep my apps up to date, and suddenly the Colormunki started working again. I had gotten one use out of it, then had added and/or updated software and the Colormunki no longer worked! It has worked flawlessly since.
