I have a question about slide scanners and Windows 7. I need a new machine to replace my Windows XP unit. I depend heavily on an old Minolta Dual Scan III to deal with my thousands of historically important slides, (and was appalled when I found out that Nikon had quit making Coolscans, but that's another story).

I was depressed but not surprised to find that my old Minolta seems not to be usable under Win7. The shocker was that it seems that the Coolscan 5000 and 9000 seem not to be supported either! Does anybody know of any way to use these legacy machines in a modern system? I know for a fact that thousands of pros out there still dependent on Coolscans -- what are they doing? I'm sure that not everybody got all their work scanned and archived before this Win7 curtain fell!

So does anyone know of any way I can continue to use my trusty old Minolta scanner, (or does anybody have a Coolscan V they will sell to me? LOL). I somehow need to maintain my ability to make use of 30 years of shooting Kodachrome...
