There is little integration between the two programs. In my case none since I do not have Lightroom generate XMP files. For those who do generate the XMPs, Capture One can read some of the info.
I start with FastRawViewer. It is an inexpensive utility that is very fast and is excellent at reviewing and culling images. Much better than either Lightroom or C1. I use it to open the images on the memory card, check focus, and then color tag or apply rating stars. FastRawViewer does not yet support keywording, but that feature is promised in a future update. I then select the images I want to import and have FastRawViewer copy them to their storage location on my HD. During that copy FastRawViewer creates an xmp file for each image.
At this point the images are ready for import (from the HD location) into Lightroom and/or Capture One. That import preserves the color tags, rating stars and eventually keywords in both programs because they read the xmp files on import.. I always add the images to the Lightroom Catalog. It is much more full featured than Capture One's current catalog capability. I still use Lightroom's Develop Module frequently, but for large imports, particularly D810 images, I will also import into Capture One and process there.
In order to use Lightroom's Web and Print Modules I will export the processed images from Capture One and temporarily import those jpegs/tifs into Lightroom.
Not nearly as convenient as doing it all in Lightroom, but a lot less frustrating when processing a significant number of large files. Also, I still prefer the colors I get from C1.

I copy the images from the memory card to their location on the hard drive before opening them in FastRawViewer to avoid writing XMP files to the card. Also, if I do exposure edits in FastRawViewer they too are put into the XMP file and honored in both C1 and Lightroom.-

I'll install C1 and give this workflow a try.

Recently it seems some Nikonians are moving to using LR to catalog images and Capture One to process them due to processing speed.
What does this workflow look like? Does LR integrate with Capture One?
