Very good book for the beginning photographer. Gives some very good, detailed information and hints on how to use the N70.
I have loaned my copy to many people I work with who have purchased an N70. They have all stated that they have learned something from it.

I too bought the Magic Lantern Guide as the demo model N70 I purchased didnot have a manual. Several months later I picked up a Nikon users manual and had the chance to compare the 2 finding the Nikon guide better at the manipulation of the camera but without the MLG book an amatuer would be truely awash in the levels of control the N70 offers.
Also the MLG book gives a good background on the science behind the exposure in understandable language allowing me as a neophyte to grasp the control panel on the oft malaigned N70 as intuitive altho I must admit I must decide and effect the setting of the camera with the camera at my chest to run thru the selection for any but straight forward shooting situations.
The info in the MLG also helped as I mastered the F added to my collection shortly after obtaining my N70.,

This was the first "accessory" I bought to go along with my N-70. Mostly because I had heard so many horror stories about product manuals being written to engineers (no slam to engineers but... .) I found the MLG very helpful in learning abount the features of the N-70 as well as authors' personal insight into the creative aspects of photography (this was before my first photography class). I also helped introduce flash photography and the sb- flashes.
Good reading for the neo, or someone who misplaced/lost or doesn't have the manual, although you can also get the functional information from the NIKON FIELD GUIDE.

This is a great book if you don't have the N70 manual. However, the manual for the N70 is pretty good as manuals go and I have found that the MLG was only an incremental improvement. The tips that go beyond the N70 itself (tips on lighting, lenses, etc.) are good but can be had from other general books on photography.
