I purchased two of the trinity recently and read that this, including the two pro grade bodies I already owned, would qualify for membership in Nikon Professional Services. The last page of the membership application asks for a sponsor who is already a member of Nikon Professional Services. Does anyone know where I might find one? Thanks!
Great timing! I;m also trying to find a sponsor. I;;d love info on how to find one! I started my photo business last year, and would love to be a member. I think the price is right Any info is appreciated Ken
Well, I have an update for those in the same situation. I was always taught that it never hurts to ask, So as I;ve seen mentioned while searching for net for how to find a sposor, many folks suggested contacting N directly.
I emailed my reuqest for more info...they reponded that they will at times wave the sposor requirement , if the requirements for memership are met.
They sent a link to the form...I filled it out...name...website...type of photography specialty, equipment list, etc.
The admission form was accepted, and I await the verdict
I find it a bit annoying they insist on the "full time photographer" criteria. I have plenty of qualifying Nikon gear, but it's not my living. So would be interested if they are known to waive that requirement as opposed to sponsor.
Yes -- I do understand the concept they are pushing, that someone depending on it for a living gets first cut at repairs. But one can argue that if one buys pro equipment one should get pro treatment on repairs.
You might want to update your profile, I suspect several of us were wondering the same thing since it says you are an amateur. And congratulations on making the jump to full time pro, as well as membership.
I just posted basically the same question before I saw this thread. It will be interesting to see if they regard me as being a full time photographer. I am retired and get Social Security and a pension. My photography income is a small percentage of total income, but it is the only work I do now for which I get paid.
