In case I want to share an album with many photos I like Picasa. For photos I like very much I use my Nikonians albums. Some are protected. Facebook I share as well but not so many. What I like at Facebook is that you may easily tag there friends and also I like that timeline option.
I only use facebook for family snaps or to advertise (link) to new shots hosted on other sites. Mainly because facebook is terrible at displaying the photo.. I don't understand why people start up business pages and put all their shots on there.
That's probably more of a personal preference thing though..
I'm revisting this actually... I decided the only way I'm sharing my work is through two outlets, my website and the group I've created at facebook to show where you can buy my prints at Etsy.
I'm very careful when I do share, I share with friends and family but the only other time I share is when I do a artshow. That's it.
I guess I'm very protective over my portfolio. Not saying no one is here but I've seen artwork stole from other people and that is not something I want to go thought and I know when you post things on the net you take that chance.
Even my own father had his photography stolen and he doesn't share anything unless it's raw in the moment on location. Even then you don't see it again... sad really.
I have had some of my work stolen from my husband's facebook. I also have flick'r but after giving notice to some people that I have some photos for them to look at, after a certain period of time, I take it down. I also use You Tube where I show my time-lapse photography and other presentation work but pull it down after a certain period of time. It is also very hard to fight for your right especially if the thief is my husband's friend's son and he has friends with the parents for a million years before he came to my life.
